It makes sense in a critical reflective paper to actually consider what happens when things are likely to go wrong or put another way not to completely dwell in the past and forget the purpose of the journey to start with. Wilson (2008) outlined what it meant to reflect on the future by observing the past actions, and in this assignment looking at the feedback from the course tutor as well as the cohort and my professional practice I would like to postulate that having an alternative, should something go wrong, incorporates the elements of good reflection. I met the weeks’ basic objectives, such as become more ethically considerate at work when preparing questionnaires for surveys, or when I was asked to join colleagues preparing to submit their papers for publication at work, but I know I need to brush up on the little details around research design. When considering the second or last module in the series of the Doctorate Programme, I know that I will be better prepared by the steps I have already taken through downloading all the syllabus for the modules and creating separate folders in Mendeley, a referencing software Dr Gray suggested during my tutorial session. I read a lot and write extensively which requires both skills to be in line with critical aspects demanded by academic context ( Richards & Miller, 2005; Lee, 2008; Murray & Hughes, 2008; Wallace & Wray, 2011).
