Kent Nerburn once said, “It is much easier to become a father than to be one.” A great father is a person that puts a child above their own selfish needs and desires. There are times when fathers will make mistakes and poor decisions, but this is not an excuse to be a bad parent. A father should be more than a provider and protector. He is man that is caring, present, reliable, loving, and overall a positive example.…

If you were to meet my father, you would really admire the kind of man he is. My dad is a really traditional man, he only wants what’s best for his girls. My mother knows what’s going on with the modern times she knows what's trending she acknowledges it. My mom is a very relaxing and funny person.…
I want to express my deepest condolences on the recent death of your son, Specialist Patrick Eugene Boss who gracefully defined our country. Words cannot describe to you how sorry I am for this tremendous loss and how much Patrick’s death has and will continue to affect those of us still serving. On Tuesday, March 10, 2010, at 1:30 p.m., Patrick was on a convoy enroute to begin his rest and recuperation leave, when the convoy was under attack by insurgents. Patrick sustained a shot to the neck, and received immediate first aid care by his fellow Soldiers in the convoy. The blood loss was too great, and his wound proved too severe to save his life.…
On behalf of my mother,Grace Potter, and her entire family we would like to express our deepest gratitude to you for the help you provided in seeking the status of mom's Kancare Application. I have spoken with the local DCF manager,Carol Hiskin, and she informed me yesterday that the approval process is about half complete and should be completed shortly. She also said mom is qualified which is a great relief to her and all of us as she certainly needs the wonderful care she is getting at Presbyterian Manor in Arkansas City. It is reassuring to know that there are still compassionate men and women like yourself out there to help those of us who have exhausted all other means.…

Today I gave the speech of presentation. Awarding my father with the best dad award. I think it was one of the easies speech we ever done. Not only was it quick and simple, but we had the choice between a formal outline and anything else we were comfortable with. I choose to do the formal outline because it seemed to work for me.…
When I am up front in of an audience various things happen to me. My face starts to get hot and red really quick so then the room becomes very hot as well. Along with my hands start to get sweaty so that causes me to move my fingers around to make them not as sweaty. I like to shift my weight back and forth because it keeps me moving. Also when I am giving a speech I feel like I can only make eye contact with the person that is grading me and just glance at the audience here and there.…
Today I’m going to tell you about a person who has had the most positive influence on me. He has taught me right from wrong through example. That man is my brother Nathan. Nathan and I were never good friends when we were young in fact we fought daily but now that we are older and don’t see as much of each other we like each other way more. I am going to tell you how he’s impacted my life, how he’s taught me and how he’s given advise.…
Growing up I often faced with the words “ you need an education in order to be something good in life “ but to much of my surprise that was not necessarily true. For much of my childhood I was apart from my Dad due to distance but at age three that all changed. I remember coming into the United States for the first times and arriving at a place with the weather much like Mexico's, it was very warm, dry, and full of open land. I often questioned why my Dad lived so far away from my mom, sister and I but as the years have gone by I have come to the understanding as to why my Dad moved to the United States. At age eighteen my dad came to the U.S. to work because the U.S offered better opportunities than Mexico and he wanted to make sure he gave us the best.…
If there was any day I could re-live it’d be the day that my stepfather died from drunk driving. Maybe even the following days when my mother broke and became an alcoholic. If I could really could go back then I could have done something to help her and save him from the car crash.. But, I can only choose one day therefore I choose the day he died from drunk driving.…
My dad has always been my hero and helped me learn mostly everything I know. He taught me self-defense which helps him sleep and night. He taught me to never change for some guy and always be myself. Being the only girl with three brothers, I’ll always be his favorite little girl, and I know he would never want anything to happen to me. Being a daddy’s girls still to this day is what’s most important, but sometimes I wish like he trusted me a little more to know right from wrong.…
Growing Up in a Broken Home and What it Has Taught Me Growing up I had typical childhood experiences, but unlike some of you I grew up in a broken home. Many people would say I got the short end of the stick; however, I believe it has in some ways made me a better person. It was not because of the broken home, tons of other people grew up that way, it was the completely opposite lifestyles I observed in both homes that changed me. It has taught me many life lessons, including the fact that a man does not have to be your father to be a dad.…
