Support from family members is the most encouraging thing in the world. Family members are there with you no matter what. Daniel grew up with 9 siblings and did not always play along with them. He tended to watch them play outside while he watched from the window. As he and his siblings grew up, they had a stronger bond and ended up playing together. His siblings supported him moving out of the house and becoming independent. He knows that his siblings have his full support and will always be there for him. The most influential and supportive person in Daniel’s life would have to be his father. His father has spent endless hours in and out of the hospital, driving him to appointments, and always being there for him when he was younger. He was the one who made sure he was on the right bus or train and checked to make sure he made it to the correct location. He has been so supportive about him moving away to Lithuania for a year. Yes, he did have concerns but his father knew that Daniel is independent enough to start a new life and enjoy his time without any worries. Moving to another country and not knowing a single person can be scary especially when you have poor …show more content…
This is because Asperger’s was not a diagnostic until after 1994. Daniel does meet the requirements for the DSM-V diagnosis of ASD. With his lack of social abilities, excessive adherence to routines, and hyper reactivity to sensory input, he falls under the spectrum. He has deficits in these areas every day that causes him to panic or shutdown from the outside world. Daniel needs level 1 requiring support since he is independent and has overcome of life’s obstacles. Daniel gets upset when his routine gets mixed up unannounced but he has learned to cope with the stress from previous experience. Daniel still struggles initiating social situations but he has grown into creating conversations with others and being interested in the
