To Kill a Mockingbird is the title of my book. The author of this book is Harper Lee. The genre of this book is fiction. This story takes place in Maycomb, Alabama a southern town where a man name Atticus Finch and his two children Jean Louise Finch that goes by the name of Scout and her brother Jeremy Finch that goes by Jem. Every summer Scout and Jem best friend Dill Harris comes to visit them. Every year they all share an obsession with the Radley place, and the man that lives there, Boo Radley.
When fall comes Dill goes back home and Scout starts school. The Radley place is in between Scouts house and her school, so she speed walk pass the house every day. Winter comes and Miss Maudie’s house catches on fire. The neighbors help her get …show more content…
Jem and Scout learn that the black people don’t too much like white people. Tom Robinson was accused of beating and raping a white woman name Mayella Ewell. Mayella had bruises on the right side of her face meaning who ever beat her had to be left handed, Atticus thought. Despite Atticus skillful defense Tom was declared guilty by the jury since he is black and his accuser is white.
A few weeks later Tom is shot 17 times and killed after trying to escape prison. Bob Ewell had been threatening Scout and jems dad since the incident. One night the kids were walking home from there schools Halloween pageant when they heard someone following them. Bob Ewell was following them and tried to murder them with a knife. Boo Radley saves the kids and kills Bob with the knife.
Boo goes to the finch house with jem in his arms and Scout follows him. When Scout goes in Jems room she sees Atticus, Aunt Alexandra, and the man she doesn’t know. Jems arm was broken from tussling with Bob. Scout tells the story how she had forgotten her shoes at the school to how they thought there friend Cecil was the one following them.
