The novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is about Jay Gatsby and his love for a girl named Daisy. The book is set in the 1920s in Long Island, New York during the Prohibition era. It is told by Nick Carraway two years after the story took place. Nick is a bonds man from Minnesota who now lives next to Mr. Gatsby in the West Egg district. Unlike Nick, Mr. Gatsby lives in an immense mansion and throws enormous, lavish parties every Saturday night. Nick meets his second cousin Daisy, her new husband Tom, and Jordan Baker in their house in East Egg where he finds out that Tom is cheating on Daisy with a girl in the city named Myrtle. After this Nick meets Tom and Myrtle accidentally on a train and ends up going to their apartment
