How To Write A Book Report Lord Of The Flies

Have you ever thought of what you would do or what it would be like to be stranded on an island with no outside sources such as guns, canned food, nothing at all but resources on the island. The characters in the Lord of the Flies never thought of that and in the end turned into savages because of it. The author of this book is William Golding. The main characters in this story were Piggy a boy with glasses and is an orphan and the other boys on the island do not like him much, also their is Ralph who is 12 years old and is one of the leaders and he is optimistic that they will be saved because his father is in the British navy, also there is Jack who is the rival to Ralph and is in the choir and the leader of the hunters, finally there is Simon who is quiet and does not do much around the island. What happens in the book is the boys are being evacuated from Britain due to World War II going on and their plane gets shot down and lands on an island that no humans have ever inhabited, all the adults on board died and only the boys survived. One of the ways it shows savagery is when Jack states,”You cut a pig’s throat to let the blood out, otherwise you can not eat the meat” (31). This is showing that Jack is turning into a savage due to him having the knowledge of how hunting an animal works and what you have to do in order to eat the meat from it. Another example is when Jack whined,”I was just waiting for a movement to decide stab him” (31). This is showing savagery because it is saying Jack was going to kill the pig but he took too long to decide where to stab
