Three years is way too long friend, and for that I am sorry. In just a short amount of time a plethora of things occurred. On November 6, 1860 the election for our president was held. That year there were four candidates: Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, John Bell, and John Breckinridge. I am not sure if you know old friend, but John Breckinridge was nominated by the South, because he wanted to expand slavery and because he believed the government should protect slavery. That COULDN’T happen, and that is why I voted for Abraham Lincoln.
And guess what old friend, Abraham Lincoln won! I will never forget how hard I hugged my wife and told her “We’re in the lead!”
