The issue is the use brainwash to recruit terrorists. Brainwash is the intense way people get into your mind and change your way of thinking, beliefs, behavior, and attitude (Garden, Science, Mind & Brain, n.d.). Big terrorist groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda are using this strategy to attract innocent people into their group. The brainwasher starts a conversation offering advice, support, or friendship ("What ISIS Recruitment Can Teach Us About Brainwashing", n.d.). Then, they replace their personality with different views that comply with terrorists’ ways. They often target young individuals that are deciding what to do in their lives. With social media, contacting recruits across the world has become even easier (Engel, n.d.).
