Looking out the window of the train car, I saw the gloomy scenery. Rain was pouring as the train passed by an abandoned playground. Jeez, where was my dad moving our family to?
I directed my attention away from the window and noticed Jem snoring his cares away. How could he do that? We're moving hundreds of miles away; I could never sleep knowing I was leaving my entire life behind. Millions of questions swirled about in my head.
What happens next? Will I ever be remembered? Will I ever come back?

“Oh, I just hope people could listen and learn not to judge people.” I started, carefully choosing my words. “You know that Tom guy I was talking about before, I guessed people didn't like him because of prejudices they had about black people. They didn't even get to know him at all, they just assume he's bad.”
“People just assume things around here. It's kinda difficult when no one wants to be your friend.” Jeanne sighed, fiddling with her book bag straps.
“After what happened today at school, I hope no one else will bother you that way again.” I grinned.
“Thanks again, by the way. I hope we could become friends, if you want to.”
Jeanne said shyly.
“Of course! I'd be glad to be your friend.” I turned to her and gave her a big smile. Jeanne grinned in return. We kept walking in a comfortable silence, enjoying the company of each other. A couple houses passed before we knew it; one of use was bound to go home first.
“Oh, this is me. I'll see you tomorrow, Scout!” She called out turning and walking into her driveway.
