Imagine a school in Britain, where they need to get the boys away from the war. Then when the plane is shot down over the Atlantic that's where the story begins. In William Golding's novel,Lord of the Flies,Piggy,through his actions,shows the idea that working together to survive.
Unless the boys start working together, they will not get off the island. It shows that Piggy wants to get the others. Then when they get together and talk about what they will do about being on the island and what they're going to do to survive. If an adult would have lived they would have some authority,and they would be more in line, but “they're all dead,” said piggy” this is an island.Nobody knows we're here”(Golding 14). Since no one knows they are on the island this is why the they're going to have to try harder to survive. The boys need to start following the rules and if they don't they will not survive. If Ralph and Piggy don't get the fire started they will not get off the island “ we got no fire on the mountain. But what's wrong with a fire down here? A fire could be built on them rocks. On the sand, even. Wed make smoke just the same” (Golding 129). Without the fire, they can't get off the island and the longer they're on the island and the less chance of survival. The rules about the fire aren't keeping the smaller chance of leaving the island.
