As a veteran I choose to continue my service to the United States by serving as a Social Worker with the Department of Veterans Affairs. I have been working at one of the local VA Medical Centers for a little over a year. Initially I see my role as a broker; connecting my clients with support services they need with the hopes to grow into an advocate supporting my veterans. Serving as a champion for this population seems to be a no brainer for me; as I believe that foundational piece is critical to their wellbeing.
