Mexico is a triangle-shaped valley between these two countries (Bulletin 8). Mexico is bordered by several different countries and terrains, as shown in figure 2. As reported in HSTC Mexico is “bordered on the west by the Sierra Nevada mountain range, which separates the valley from Mexico state, and to the east by Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl mountains and Telapon and Tláloc hills” (Bulletin 8). These borders help us understand why sex trafficking is bigger in some cities than in others. Tenancingo, Mexico is one of the prime locations for sex trafficking. When looking at the map below, one can see that it is near the water. This makes a difference, especially in Mexico. Since Mexico, like other countries, has cities that are not touching the water, these places will not have as many sex traffickers. Sadly, whenever a city is closer to water, they tend to have more dangers for sex trafficking because you can ship girl to other places quickly. This group has written many bulletins on sex trafficking in Mexico. All which include acceptable information. Victims of trafficking are normally young girls from the ages of twelve to eighteen (CNN 3). These girls are recruited by young local men (Chadwick 3). HSTC’s reports,“traffickers have adapted traditional cultural dominance over women in the process of marriage with two methods that gain and retain control over trafficking victims” (Bulletin 10). Young men get in the heads of these girls, manipulating them to think they are in love and nothing can separate them.
