How To Say Goodbye In Robot Book Report

I just finished reading How To Say Goodbye In Robot by Natalie Standiford. The setting of the story changes throughout the book. It is realistic fiction, one of my favorite genre. I would rate this book four out of five stars. One reason is the character has a strong development. Bea and Jonah did not have the friendship like other people have a friendship, where it's all based on group and parties and what everybody else thinks. Instead, their friendship comes from truth-bond conversations, shared secrets, daring stunts, and late-night calls to the same old-timer radio show. They help each other and hurt each other, push away and hold close. It’s not romance, exactly-but it’s definitely love. And it means more to them than either one can ever really know.

No matter how old you are it remains a fact to be true that when the truth is out, nothing can hide it. It can only cause more destruction. After many years of Jonah dealing with his loss it made up who he came. The time can’t erase the fact that the he loved was their the hold time and his father’s shame kept them apart.
Jonah, remind me of Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games. Both characters choose to become stronger and gain hope because they have something to fight for. Katniss Everdeen continues to fight harder because of her sister Prim. Katniss choose to sacrifice herself just for her sister. If she didn’t she could have left go of all the hardship and all pain she went through. But now she is stronger because in her head, she only had one thing that kept her from giving up, her sister. This also remains true for Jonah. Staniford writes,
“I keep wishing, reflexively, for a glimpse of the future, so I'll know what to do. But I don't kid myself. I have to feel my way forward blindly. I try not to be afraid. Even if you know what's coming, you're never prepared for how it feels.”
