I have personally found this novel to be a good read for a couple of reasons. To begin with, I have never read a book in graphic form so this was a new experience and I enjoyed it. Second, since the book is written in a child’s viewpoint, I could relate well to it in the sense how her family influenced her to be who she is. In the early phase of the book, when change was first bought, and ladies had to wear veils Marjane didn’t know what to except, or what she thinks about them, “ I really didn’t know what to think about the veil. Deep down I was very religious but as a family we were very modern and Avant-grade.” (6). I personally as a child, lived in a very modern family, however, in the meantime my family was exceptionally religious, and I didn’t know whether if I could take after every one of the rules that my parents set identifying with religion.
