In retrospect, I first learned how to say my ABC’s and count to ten before I was even in preschool. My mom and dad would teach me so I could know and be ready for when I started school. They would sing to me different songs, such as “Twinkle Twinkle little star” or “Three Little Monkeys jumping on the Bed.” That was my favorite because it taught me not to jump on the beds, or I would fall off. I loved when they read to me and tried to teach me the words in the books, I always liked when my mom would read to me The Cat in the Hat, because she would make me laugh. Some people, however, do not like being read to because it distracts them or they think that they will not learn the same if they do not read it themselves, but I loved when my mom read because she would always have a fun tone. …show more content…
I had to learn how to comprehend most of the stories. In fourth grade, we read Green Eggs and Ham, I liked how when we finished the book the teacher brought us to the library. We got to eat green eggs and ham! Arms waving in the air, we all jumped up and down from excitement. It was made from pretzels, green frozen icing, and a M&M on the top. As I aged and started a higher reading level, I would read more books on my own, such as The Hunger Games or Romeo and Juliet. I found out while reading those novels that I was on a journey too, and I did not want to put the book
