Valley Forge, Pennsylvania was George Washington’s winter camp for the Continental Army, in Dec. of 1777 to June 1778. Valley Forge was a difficult place to live in, little food, low supplies, tattered clothes, and no shoes. If you had been in Washington’s army would you have quit? No I wouldn’t have quit because, there was a lot of sick people but not many were dying, Washington was getting help, I don’t want to be a “Summer Soldier. I would not have quit Washington’s army. Even though there might have been a lot of people sick there wasn’t many that had died.There was 3,989 soldiers sick out of 8,000 total (Doc A). Which is almost half of the people or 50% of them are sick. But because only 1,800 out of 12,000 people died there was a 85% chance of survival (Doc A). By the time it was winter they had little supplies, the snow on the ground leaving their feet with frostbite.
