43,200 times…… Karla Jancinto was raped 43,200 times. That almost 30 men a day, seven days a week and, she spent four years being forced into having sex 30 times a day and had a baby at the age of 15, which was used to make Karla do stuff against her will to keep the baby safe . In the world, today human trafficking and smuggling have been a major, up to 14,000 to 17,000 people trafficked in the U.S each year. Since Karla was 5 her abuse began, coming from a dysfunctional family, she was mistreated and abused by a relative. One day at the age of 12, Karla was waiting for some her friends at the subway station when a young boy selling sweets came up to her, saying that someone would like to gift her some candy. A couple of minutes later an older man came up and started a conversation about how he used to be a car salesman. Weeks down the road they exchanged numbers and he asked Karla to go to Puebla with him, and the nightmare begins; one night Karla’s mother did not open the door because she came home a little too late so, she decided to leave with the older man the next day. Three months later the man who was 22 years old, 10 years older than Karla finally told her that they are pimps and then the pimp told her all the different positions to do. For four years Karla had to suffer, being forced into working as a prostitute in Guadalajara for a week, she started and 10 a.m. and finished at midnight. If you do the math correctly that’s twenty men per week. Men would laugh at her for crying, she even had to close her eyes so she would not see what they are doing to her. At the age of 15, Karla gave birth to a girl who was fathered by a pimp who uses her daughter against her will. Until the baby was more than a year …show more content…
If more children and young adults were more aware of this problem the percentage of missing children and young adults put into human trafficking could possibly decrease. There should also be a lot of support groups for those who actually experienced it. It would most likely comfort them to know that they are not alone and, they have someone there who understands what they are going through also, parents need to tell their children about this so they are aware of the dangers and will be more careful when going out alone or with friends. Another thing that might help stop children and teens to not end up in the trafficking system is self-defense lessons. Some young girls do not know how to properly defend their selves from dangerous people. If there were free lessons for self-defense, they could know how to protect themselves and get away from the traffickers or anyone who threatens them. As far as the traffickers go I feel as if like they should be sentenced to life. The things that take place during trafficking houses is inhumane and unacceptable, they deserve to suffer in jail for what they

They seem to be falling short of protecting at-risk women, not serving justice to traffickers and exploiters, and proper reintegration measures to women who have been bound to a life within trafficking. It all starts within the law enforcement itself. Many of the reviews and articles I have read claims thats many police/patrol, prosecutors, and judges don 't obtain the proper knowledge of the issues felt within trafficking. When faced with a situation, they either attack the victim in asking why she “chose” this path or don 't successfully supply the proper help to them. It is important to teach the management skills and strengthen mechanisms for helping any victim.…
