Learning Feedback

While doing this activity I have learned a lot about myself. I have learned to understand my actions more and now pay more attention to how the feedback I get from others affects the way I react and change my behavior. This activity enabled me to think about how others might react to similar feedback. I also have learned the many things that I try to present myself as such as: intelligent, friendly, and fashionable. One very big way I want to present my self is as being intelligent. Since I was little I have done really well in school and enjoyed schoolwork, especially reading. I didn’t think much of it exceeding in school, until I started getting praise from teachers and other adults on my achievements. Since I have realized that I can …show more content…
This really isn’t an act, because I try to be kind to everyone. Sometimes though, appearing friendly in front of people can be more important to me than the actual act of being friendly itself. In this society it good to be thought of as kind and a good friend. My parents stressed to be kind to everyone, so I try to do that even if I disagree with them. If it is positive feedback that makes me feel good about myself, I will keep repeating that behavior. An example from the chart is that I got complimented a lot one day on wearing a certain pair of shoes, so I wear them a lot more often. I also got complimented on being a good friend, that makes me really happy, and also drives me to continue to being supportive to my friends. For the most part, I try to learn from negative feedback. I try not to take it as a personal attack, and instead try to change my behavior so that I can become a better person. When I get feedback that is about my procrastinating, I try to improve and make it better. When I get neutral feedback I usually just remember it, but don’t necessarily do anything with it. I believe that most people would react to feed back in similar ways that I do. I think that most react positively to positive feedback and proactively to negative feedback. Each person is different with different experiences, so it is difficult to predict how everyone will react in different situations. I have learned a lot about my self from this project. I now know how I try to present myself, and how others’ opinions affect me. I learned how I react to feedback may be very different than how others do. This project taught me to be more aware of the world, and going forward I will pay more attention on how feedback affects me and the people who surround
