The date was September-12-2015. The day was cold and windy, in other words not a good day for a softball game. Chaos Elite 99 was down 3-0 and it was the bottom of the 6th inning. Number six was up to bat with a 2-2 count. Chaos was close to giving up with bases loaded and two outs. Number six swung the bat to high heavens and hit a three run homer and Chaos won the game 4-3 without giving up. We've all been there: you feel like you tried really hard but, despite your best efforts, you still failed. With softball, along with really any sport, there will be times that you will lose. In my experience, there was a time when my team suffered a really tough loss. We hung our heads as we walked to the outfield, expecting our coaches to chew our tails and make us feel like dirt. But, despite our loss, our coaches were still very proud of us.…

Although when it comes to stealing bases in baseball the runner is allowed to steal whenever the ball is live (which is most of the time). In softball you are only allowed to steal once the pitcher releases the ball out of their hand, but the runner is not allowed to leave the base if the pitcher has the ball in the pitching circle. Another major difference between baseball and softball is the how the ball is thrown to the batter. In softball the ball is pitched underhanded and can be fast as it is in fast-pitch softball or slow like in slow-pitch softball. In baseball the ball is usually pitched overhanded in really fast…

The game was tied at 7-7 in the last inning with two outs, not an optimum situation for any hitter out on the softball field of a championship game. I knew I had to be resilient after striking out the time before. The intensity was ubiquitous and I could feel it from everyone around me.…

On a diamond shaped field with two competing teams, a ball, and bats the sport we call softball is played. There are nine to ten players on the field at once. First the pitcher will pitch the ball to the opposing team using an under armed pitch. They will then hit the ball using a softball bat and the players in the field will try to stop the ball. As they do so the player that hit the ball is running around all three bases until she thinks she will get out so she stops, she gets tagged, or she makes it to home plate.…

If there weren’t a baseball team for a school due to lack of players, then a male interested would have to play on the softball team. He would most probably lead the league in steals, hits, pretty much everything because of his strength and the fence would be no more than 215 feet so he could easily get a home run (Janelle Greer, 2011). Although Janelle Greer claims men playing in a womens’ softball league would completely dominate, we don’t need her to tell us that. Anyone familiar with how many women are capable of playing with men has long known that just because men are stronger, it doesn’t mean that women shouldn’t get a chance to play with the…
