How To Plant A Palo Verde Tree

Improved Essays
For my biology project I chose to plant a Palo verde tree. I decided to plant my tree in the front yard of my house. It is near a few cacti and some other trees. I put some black fencing around the tree to protect it from any wild animals, such as the jackrabbits that like to roam in my yard. I watered my tree every day for the past two months. I checked for the growth of it twice, and in total it grew about an inch. Trees are a necessity in this environment. Trees provide oxygen and help purify the air around me. They also provide food and homes for wildlife. They give shade to other plants which protect them from dying. The trees give other small plants shade during summer, and sun during the winter. Palo verde trees have yellow flowers that attract bees. The bees pollinate the flowers on the tree, which provides their energy. Bees help preserve our trees by pollinating them in return. Trees improve my health directly and indirectly in several ways. Trees provide a relaxing environment, which can reduce stress …show more content…
I obtained the skills needed to plant a tree, so I can plant more to help the environment in the future. The most enjoyable part was planting the tree, it was fun and educational. I realized that I’m lazy, I didn’t want to go outside to plant the tree, or water it, especially if it was the weekend. When I did go outside to water the tree, it was peaceful and relaxing. It put me in a much better mood for the rest of the day. I disagree with the statement, “It’s not my job. Let somebody else do it”. That isn’t a proper response when someone is told to complete a task. Doing a task that may or may not be your job, will make make it seem like the I’m responsible. When anyone uses that statement, that means they are only willing to do the minimum requirements and nothing mor. They need to step up, be responsible, and put in hard work to get tasks

Trees play many major roles in our climate, but vary depending on the needs of a region. Roots that store water drive deep down into the Earth, holding soil together and absorbing moisture from underground which is then released into the atmosphere in a process called transpiration (Thomas 19-23). This moisture is essential to the water cycle, without which water from deep within the Earth would be unable to escape back into the atmosphere (see appendix). Without these trees’ roots, regions of all types would be affected in different ways. Topsoil would simply blow away without trees, and would cause lands to become infertile, as well as creating sediment buildup in rivers.…

Q: What are some of the significant current problems with Tall Oaks? “What an irony it is that these living beings whose shade we sit in, whose fruit we eat, whose limbs we climb, whose roots we water, to whom most of us rarely give a second thought, are so poorly understood. We need to come, as soon as possible, to a profound understanding and appreciation for trees and forests and the vital role they play, for they are among our best allies in the uncertain future that is unfolding,” said by Jim Robbins, an American author. The future for forests, including the small Tall Oaks, is uncertain. Many significant problems are unfolding, just like what Jim Robbins mentioned in his quote.…

Truffula Seeds and Actual Trees People use trees for everything, to build a house, to catch a mouse, to get from here, and make it there. Trees are what we need, if we ran out of trees, we couldn't do as we please. Trees also give us oxygen, which we use to for breathing, and wood planks which we use for keys. The area, near the Atlantic Ocean, has warmer winters and cooler summers that is influenced by climate change. Increased CO2 concentration in the atmosphere creates a dramatically warmer climate against the previously colder Atlantic area, giving the possibility of severe storms and precipitations (Richard, Dominic, & Kerstin, 2011). Climate change and the warming atmosphere could offer the proper grown environment for non- native species as well (Richard, Dominic, & Kerstin, 2011). Because of the cutting of old trees and the growing of new ones, new bugs and tree disease that have potential effects on the local species of environment (Richard, Dominic, & Kerstin, 2011). Even more, non- native species may grow over the native ones.…

The Great Bear Rainforest is a temperate rainforest of 6.4 million hectares, home to many rare and endangered species, as well as watersheds that provide the best salmon runs left in Canada. Unfortunately, the Great Bear Rainforest is under threat due to clearcutting and its effects on the environment. According to the David Suzuki Foundation, “30% of logging in the Great Bear Rainforest has been in watersheds since 2001”, meaning the water quality of that area has been affected. As for wildlife, deforestation is one of the leading causes of animal extinction in the world today. Due to the negative effects deforestation has on wildlife and watersheds, the acts of clearcutting in the Great Bear Rainforest must subside.…
