Leaving home and your family to go to college is scary. Paying for college is scarier. Want to ask your parents for help? For advice? NOPE. Things are so different from when your parents went to college, from getting loans, paying them, to even just eligibility for a scholarship. Things are so much harder. There are various kinds of loans, and you need help your parents understand how to pay. There are several types of loans. One of the best and easiest ways to pay for college is by scholarship. You can get many scholarships for many things, like grades, SAT scores, community service, and most well-known, sports. Scholarships pay for most of your college debt, including tuition. Now fellas, many parents refuse to compare this generation to theirs. “When i was your age my entertainment was a rock and a stick!” “When I was your age, I could pay my student loans by washing dishes every summer!!” Well, news flash parents, this is not the 1980’s. You can barely buy groceries with the pay of someone “washing dishes every summer”. You need to help your parents understand that it will not be easy to pay off your loans as it was for them. You can not pay off your loans with a part-time or minimum wage job anymore. It will take years. But you also need to teach them that it is okay to take out loans. You do not have to pay right out of pocket.Even though it will take a while and it's not easy to pay off, you will get it done and you will not be homeless. after all, that was the money that paid for you to go to school, so use your education, get that beautiful thing called a paycheck, doing what you studied for, and you can pay off those loans in the nick of time! this demonstrates that for you and your parents, taking out loans, and paying for them can be scary, and it is different, times have definitely changed, but that does not mean it is impossible.
