In the Declaration of Independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” (Founding Fathers). America protects each person’s opportunity to pursue their own idea of happiness and pursue the American Dream. By protecting their rights, the Founding fathers set up a society that was attracting those top aspire a better life. In Amendment I, “Congress shall not make no law respecting an establishment of religion… Abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievance” (Founding Fathers). Rights establish freedom to not be controlled by a tyrant and give them a voice in their life choices.
