How To Grow Skiing

Improved Essays
Skiing gives me a chance to be free from worry and stress that comes with being a highschool student and meet new people. I started skiing when I was six years old and fell in love with it. By the time I was nine I had mastered the blue and black diamond trails and wanted to do morel. I turned to the terrain park, which is where the jumps and rails are located. My friends and I would egg each other on to go off them and try new tricks. By the time I was 15, I began going off the expert-level jumps and trying to grind the expert-level rails. I would spend countless hours skiing until my feet ached or even bled, but when I mastered new tricks I knew I was improving.

So one day I was thinking can I turn my backyard into a ski park? My backyard already has the shape of a ski hill I envisioned using the path to gain speed, stairs for a jump and then a steep drop off to finish of the run. I already made rails out of pvc pipe and had black plastic jumps, all I needed was a team to help with the manual labor. I called a few of my friends over and explained my idea and convinced them to help me create this park. We skied down the track first to pack the snow, next we placed the jumps and rails in certain places. We poured water all over the sides of the rails to keep them in place when they freeze. Finally we groomed the run with a rake and poured our last bits of water over the track and waited. The snow was so powery it made it difficult to pack down. I had a brilliant idea of pouring freezing water all over the track to make it easier to pack. I tasked my friends in what we had to complete in order to make the track perfect. I had the job of moving the rails to where they be belonged. After it wa finished it looked great. I maintained it throughout the winter. It worked out so well we rebuild it every
