How To Get To 4th Grade

Decent Essays
When I got to 4th grade the homework got a little bit harder and I lost a friend because of I don’t even know why. 4th grade is also the year when we got an octagon shaped pit, where we would play a game called Ga-ga. Ga-ga was a game where you have to hit a ball into other people without hitting the ball out of the pit. It was sorta hard to get used to and to get good at it. It took everyone at least a year to get used to the game. Halfway into the school year our class had to do a project where we would pick a president to dress up as and tell their life story. My uncle made me a cardboard musket to bring in, which was pretty cool because it kinda looked real from a distance and I still have that musket 5 years later. When 5th grade started

It was the end of junior year when Wieman nominated several people, myself included, to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security in Washington D.C.. I had never been to the East coast so I jumped at the chance to go. It was extremely costly but strings were pulled and I actually came up with the $2000 tuition. Although it broke my wallet, it was by far the best six days of my life. I had an amazing journey and the destination was nothing to sneeze at either.…

My hardest subject started to get even harder. There was so many stairs. Nobody was considerate enough to apologize for bumping into you in the hallway. Right when we walked into school everyone morning, they had this machine that sold these smelly pens that everyone wanted, I regret not getting one even though I had every chance to. In elementary school we had electives everyday.…

The creaking of my old wooden rocking chair beneath me as I anticipated for my favorite show to come on tv. When I saw the vibrant orange, heard the theme song, and saw Tommy’s diaper fly up on our box television I knew it was time for the Rugrats. I yelled every time I saw it and clapped my hands. I could watch it for hours. I always imagined myself playing in the sandbox with Tommy, Phil, and Dill.…

Like most people, the third grade was a highly intense time. This was the period in which you had to decipher between wanting to learn how to multiply or learn how to divide first. Or for me the most difficult decision may have been choosing between kickball and tetherball during recess. But I had an issue of seeing adults doing things and if it was simple I would do them too. For me as a child I had what many considered an old sold.…

This soon led to boredom and lack of motivation in school. My second grade teacher, Ms. Guerrero, noticed how incredibly bored I was in class and urged me and my parents to have a parent-teacher conference. Seeing how my mother worked in that same school we had the conference right after school. It was a rather short conference. Ms. Guerrero told us that she believes I should finish the rest of the year in the third grade.…

Sixth grade for was one of my most difficult years of my life so far for a few reasons. First off, sixth grade was my first year of middle school, meaning a whole new school, new school system with class schedules, lockers, multiple teachers, and having passing periods were all new concepts for me to grasp as a kid. More importantly however, the second reason sixth grade was so difficult for me was that over the summer leading to that school year, me and my family left the Catholic church that my mom’s family had been going to for about a hundred years or so, and it was a completely different environment for our entire family because we spent the entire summer up to the first week of school looking for a new church in our area, going to a new…

Every individual goes through an experience that helps define who they will become. That experience for me happened in fourth grade. Fourth grade was a big transition year, it was the first year with big standardized tests, called WKCE at the time, and it was my last year at Susie C Altmayer Elementary School. However, the largest downside to fourth grade is getting the first “talk” where health professionals sit down the girls and describe the changes that will begin to occur. A couple weeks after receiving the “talk” one of my friends shared the information that a girl at our school had gotten her period.…
