For the past week or so I have been reading Last Year’s Mistake by Gina Ciocca, The DUFF by Kody Keplinger and finishing The Moment Of Letting Go J.A. Redmerski. Last Year’s Mistake is a story about two best friends, Kelsey and David, who become distant after the true feelings for each other are known. Before Kelsey moves away David confesses his true feelings for her, which only makes Kelsey angry. Kelsey is upset at David for not telling her before for in her eyes it is too late.…
This movie is the rare mix between animation and real action film. It is not a movie in which the animation and characters interact with each other, but there is a balance between both genres. It is a coming of age story and how the lives of teenagers can be affected by simple events in their ordinary life. In the Seventies, the fifteen years old troublemaker and leader altar boy Tim Sullivan and his three great friends, Francis Doyle, Wade Scalisi and Joey Anderson, study in a repressive Catholic school, and they hate their nun-teacher Sister Assumpta. Francis has a crush on Margie Flynn, who has a dramatic secret in her life.…
The book A Thousand Tomorrows by Karen Kingsbury is a very emotional romantic book. It is about two people who never believed in love that fell in love Cody Gunner and Ali Daniels. As a child Cody Gunner had a brother Carl Joseph whom was special needs, a mother Mary, and a father Mike. Mike was a professional football player that early on in his sons life decided he could not handle the fact his son was special needs , and there was no way he would ever love his son Carl Joseph . Carl carried that hurt in his heart almost forever even blaming his mother for his father leaving because she let him go.…
The main characters in my book are: Rose Justice and Maddie Brodatt. Rose is a 18-year old American ATA pilot and an amateur poet. Maddie is a girl with excellent sense of direction. She can navigate by the stars, and by dead reckoning. The setting of this book is in several different times and places.…
I chose the book Serpent’s Shadow by Rick Riordan for my IR summative because I thought a book that includes action, drama, and mythology all in one would be really exciting. Since I don’t see books with Egyptian mythology very often, I thought getting to know a little bit of it would be fun while reading a good story. This book was packed with action and had a good twist of drama and mythology to it. The story was very entertaining because the author is really good at describing what was going on and using really good cliffhangers, so that the reader would keep reading the book..…
Sonny’s Blue and Girl. Based on my options and opinions I decide to select these two topics: (“Sonny’s Blues” By James Baldwin’s and “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid’s). I’m going to do a compare and contrast about these two fabulous stories that are based in teens daily struggle life. Both stories could be real situations of all of us in today’s days.…

Many stories throughout literary history resonate with their readers. Some enough to be deemed literary classics. Three stories which resonate with readers from all ages are “Boys” by Rick Moody, “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid, and “Lust” by Susan Minot. All three stories tell of the coming of age experiences that men and woman have, but do not share the same tone. Two in particular, “Girl” and “Lust” are told from the perspective of characters themselves, and “Boys” is told from the perspective of an individual observing the main characters.…
One topic that I found interesting to me was military suicide and the reasons the book thought military personal was committing suicide. This really gained my attention, because being a military child myself, I have experienced different reasons as to why a military veteran or active duty service member would commit suicide. Many of those reasons are from P.T.S.D (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), which comes from being in a very traumatic situation. The majority of these suicides from my personal experience is, because the service members are not able to handle or talk about the problems they have experienced and many will not share everything. These issues do not end for most of them when they go to sleep, most of the time they have nightmares.…
The book I just finished reading was “Hush, Hush” by Becca Fitzpatrick. In my opinion, this book has many themes. One of the main ones being forbidden love or opposites attracted. When Nora and Patch met in biology class Nora knew that she was attracted to him, but she can’t seem to push back the warning signs he puts up in her head. Nora and Patch from the outside are complete opposites in everything between shape and size to afterschool activities and personalities in general.…
I’m reading the realistic fiction book Dork Diaries And The not so talented pop star by Rachel Reneé Russel. The number of pages in the book is 336 pages in my book. According to the reviews on Dogo.com some people gave the book five stars. The reviewer said she loved the book and it’s was totally awesome. I recommend this book to 4th to 6th grade reading level because there are some parts that are really weird.…
