Each student receives basic feedback written on their exams. This includes their final grade as well as how they did on each problem. If the problem is incorrect, an explanation as to why it is incorrect is given in green writing next to their work for that problem or the problem is worked out for them to reference. If I can see where they made the mistake in their work, I just point out the mistake so they know where exactly they went wrong. This process furthers student learning by giving them immediate feedback. Additionally, I am available during other periods per students’ request. For example, Student 1 came up to me after class to share with me that he now understands how to compute the overlapping probability problems he missed. He appreciated me going over those problems on the board when I gave their tests back and he cannot wait to have those types of problems again on the final. I thanked him for taking this course seriously and asked him if he had any further questions. He told me he did not, but that he would let me know if he thought of any. Having positive interactions like this is important, especially regarding assessment feedback, so the students feel their hard work is appreciated and so that they understand that I have an interest in their
