When I see a mom at Kohl's yelling at a young teen because she “doesn't need the receipt” (even though it's posted on every register how no returns will be accepted without one), I don't see Cheryl the PTA mom who cares for her kids and has donated about a hundred hours of her time to helping the school district, I see a horrible angry woman yelling at a poor teenager over something the teen has no control over. When a person is an a-hole they lose a big part of their humanity. A-holes become someone nobody likes, often not even themselves. I'm not saying everyone needs to be a perfect person or a beacon of goodness in their communities. Very few people are capable of doing such a thing. All I'm asking is for some simple introspection, all refraining from being an a-hole requires. I want people to look at themselves and think about how reckless driving, pointless screaming matches, and other acts of a-holeness reflect on their character. I want us as a population to become more self-aware and, most importantly, to not be a bunch of
