For my project, I designed Iris’s costume. I chose Iris because she is a goddess. This makes my image of her very versatile and differ. What do I mean by versatile? I mean that I can put any aspect into the design and any personality, because a goddess is beyond a human and has this majestic image to them.
In addition, I chose the style I did because when I think of Iris I think of mystical. For example, I chose to put purple elements in the dress because purple is the color of royalty and high-class, also when describing a goddess, one can imagine all these. One example of Iris’s high statues is, “Hail, many colored messenger, that ne’er dost disobey the wife of Jupiter” (4.1.76-77). This shows the superiority and authority of Iris. I also

The Sperlonga sculptures are four sculptural groups that were discovered in 1957 in a grotto on the coast between Naples and Rome. The location is believed to have been a villa that belonged to the Roman Emperor Tiberius, and it is suggested that the grotto was used for social events. At some point the sculptures were shattered, likely by a rock fall , making their reconstruction a difficult process. It is unknown exactly when the sculptures were created, however, it is commonly accepted that Tiberius himself was responsible for their installation. While the date and origins of the Sperlonga sculptures are debated, they exemplify the style of late Hellenistic baroque.…

Here she is standing five feet tall, with gentle feminine curls cascading down her narrow face and onto her shoulders; so perfectly symmetric it radiates beauty. The hard marble helps to emphasize the strong noble composure that illuminates in her expression yet the slightly off white color further expresses the contrast between purity and strength. The pursed lips, and slightly lifted chin help to express that her eyes are looking across the room and that she is looking down on the passersby thus depicting her true nature as a goddess overlooking everyone from above. The patrons walking through the museum can catch her stare from across the gallery in a simple glance despite her eyes being so marvelously simple as compared to the rest of the statue.…

He used this because he wanted to show significance of gods and trying to show how important something may be. I also think he could have used it to send the reader an image as to what he was trying to say. He used something of great value and put it into his words to express something. The last reason he used this term is to make a connection between text maybe to make his text a bit more clever. My reasoning for why he directly chose Diana is because other than him referencing to other gods in the past he references to Diana right now because she is characterized as heavenly and divine so this means she is a excellent person to be acquaintanced by or someone fair and kind.…

At first glance, the Hercules and the Hydra sculpture is easy to pass by. Located in the outside sculpture garden it stands on a slightly elevated bronze platform, which stands on a bigger, more elevated concrete pedestal that also rests on a larger concrete pedestal that has four embedded lights, each on one corner. The viewing area is large and allows for the audience to view the sculpture up close and far, while still being able circumambulate around the statue at a variety of distances. Because of the vastness of the space around the sculpture, at first glance from the walkway, the sculpture does not seem to be a big piece. However, the closer the proximity towards the sculpture, the bigger the piece seems to get, appearing as if Hercules…
