The lighting used was dark, extremely dark the majority of the time, not to mention sharp pointed forms, shadows and streaks of light painted directly on set. The shots taken were used from the same angle throughout the film. It was a straight single shot. This shot would give us a full shot of all the characters from top to bottom and to give us a better understanding by their body language what they were saying; another way of interpreting. There was no low angle shots or Dutch angle shots taken.…

“The Most Dangerous Game” Rainsford is stranded on an island with a man named General Zaroff who hunts people for fun. This fits under mystery/suspense very well, more suspense than mystery. When Rainsford is first being hunted, you never know if Zaroff is going to pop out of the bushes and kill Rainsford. Another example of suspense in “The Most Dangerous Game” would be before Rainsford becomes stranded on the island. When he is on the boat, he hears a gunshot from a nearby island and when he goes onto the deck of the boat to try and see anything, he falls into the water and becomes stranded.…

The lighting was not too bright nor too dark and was to the perfect setting to where the entire set was lit up without the spectators being in the lime light. The costumes they were in were very modest and not over the top. The characters were very easy to distinguish because of the minimum wardrobe changes.…

Within the first five minuets, the audience can see how important the lighting is going to be throughout the movie. In the movie, the director focuses on lighting to portray the mood to the audience. The lighting would appear dim when times were bad, and brighter when good things were happening. For example, when Andy first arrives to the prison it is a very dim day, no sun was visible. As he gets off the bus he appears timid, Red says, “a stiff breeze could blow him over.”…
