How To Build Dog Park Essay

Dog parks are a great way to provide space for owners to exercise their dogs in cities where space is limited. Many dog owners that live in a city choose to live in an apartment, which usually has little to no yard for them to let their dogs run in. However, dogs need space to run, as this is important to their physical and mental health. The solution? Build a dog park.

A dog that is always confined to the house, or is not allowed to run free or play with other dogs, can become a big problem quickly. They can start to become violent towards humans and other pets if they are not taught to socialize. But many cities have regulations that don't let owners have their dogs off-leash in public places. Therefore, dogs are not able to get the exercise that they need. If cities build dog parks, it will provide a safe, enclosed enviroment for owners to allow their dogs to exercise and socialize.

Although there are many beneifts to building a dog park, some people may find it not so beneficial. If it is built in a residential area, many people could find the barking of dogs annoying or disruptive. A good solution to this problem is to build the park just outside a residential area, but still make it easily accessible to dog owners. Yes, it will cost a fair bit of money, but cities spend thousands of dollars to maintain streets and roadways, to provide safe travel conditions. They spend money on landscaping and home improvements, to keep their property values up, and to make the city seem more inviting to people looking to move there. Furthermore, cities spend money to build recreational parks for children and families to have a safe, fun enviroment to play in. Why not spend the money to provide the same for our dogs?
