As a child my family and I moved from house to house exponentially, but the most striking was a meager country off the coast of China. Taiwan was unlike any destination I have ever experienced. For most of my childhood my family lived in Taichung; a bustling city in the southern region of the island. Taichung was enormous. Streets swarmed with a sea of colorful cars, motorcycles, and even trucks throughout the entire day. Sidewalks filled with people marching to their destination. Their footsteps beating like a drum in rhythm. To everyone, I was a foreigner; definitely not what I was used to.
