The reason I choose this topic is actually kind of a dumb reason. I've always was interested in a medical job but what really got me thinking of having a medical job was because of the show Grey's Anatomy. It is a show about surgeons/doctors in a hospital. I always knew I probably wouldn't be cut out to be a surgeon because I would probably be to grossed out but I thought maybe I could eventually be a different type of surgeon, an anesthesiologist. But some pros about being an anesthesiologist is there is a high salary. The average salary for an anesthesiologist is $294,811 as of 2016. Although there are a lot of pros to being an anesthesiologist there are also quite a bit of cons. It is a very long training process, getting residency positions can be competitive, lack of follow-up and continuity in patient care, requires high level of responsibility and potential stress.
