How To Be Culturally Sensitive To Your Patient

Adella, I agreed with you. As nurses, we should be culturally sensitive to our patient. Individuals are a unique being with diverse culture. In my country Nigeria in Africa, we have so many tribes with different cultures and customs. And in Africa, we value our culture and customs; and these are the cultural standards phenomena. As nurses, been sensitive to our patients’ cultures will help us build a trusting effective relationship with our client. It will also assist us to in the cultural assessment which is the first steps to aid cultural competence with our clients. As a nurse, I duly respect my culture and I want the same for my patient in order to assist in delivering quality of care and health outcomes.
