Personal Narrative-It's Time To Take A Break

The fateful day that I decided to keep my anxiety in check began my quest to find the holy grail of knowledge. On my journey, dozens of friends told me that I just needed to take a “break.” They bragged that they grasp this amazing power that allows them to easily shut their teary eyes, calm their beating hearts, and rest their weary heads at night until they felt renew in the morning. As I progress down my quest, I realize that the easiest actions in the world are sometimes the most difficult. Despite the difficulties of overcoming any mental strain, I strongly urge everyone to understand that the possibilities of a person achieving a healthy, stress-free lifestyle still exist. …show more content…
For instance, the benefits of taking small walks effectively distracts a person from a terrifying event and walking “directly blunt the harmful effects of stress on blood pressure and the heart” (Stress). Taking walks for me always help me formulate my thoughts while helping me calm down. I stop my heart from beating out of my chest. I take the time now to determine whether or not I need to mull over an issue. Equally, walking and other physical activities also “increases the production of endorphins, [the] body 's natural mood-booster” (How Stress Affects Your Health). The more a person works out, the more endorphins enter his or her system, and the more happier the person feels at the end of the session. That explains all the people who actually enjoy going to the gym sixteen times in one week. Even though exercising does benefit the body, a person does not need to start running marathons, but learn to take a light jog before a huge …show more content…
Specifically, studies did find that CBT effectively reduced symptoms for children and teens across a variety of age and school settings (Glazer). CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, allows patients to draw or write about their experiences or feelings to determine the key issues and behaviors while instructing patients on how to take care of the problems. Seeking professional help effectively deals with a wide selection of mental problems, but most Americans do not possess the means to seek treatment. Although one patient did use therapy, he also said talking to other men about his feelings and discussing with his co-workers about everything also help him through his difficult times (Glazer). Anybody wields the power to find friends who does not judge, parents that actually lends listening ears, or teachers that truly cares about the person confining in them. Even a person all alone in a new city holds the ability to find a free support group. Thus, everyone who fails to realize that their problems do not alienate them from finding others that went to similar issues must search for shoulders to lead
