Escalante would greatly benefit Swansboro High School. The expectations for students at this school are continuously decreasing. The transition from a seven to a ten point grading scale as well as the removal of parts of the weighted scale has proven to students that they do not need to put as much effort into their schoolwork to receive the “A” or full credit they desire in their classes. Mr. Escalante realized that making it easier for students to succeed has no benefits; it is through raised expectations that students prosper. It is critical for teachers to get to know their students on a personal level in order to teach to the best of their ability, and Mr. Escalante proved that he was willing to do that.…

Introduction First and foremost I would like to thank Walters Elementary for allowing me the opportunity to discuss and analyze discipline data. As a current candidate for the Principal position, I appreciate the chance to delve deeper into systems that are already in place and potentially aid in the development and implementation of plans to come. I hope that my analysis will help in shedding some light on, and possibly providing some guidance in regards to, disciplinary issues that have been trending over the course of the last three years. If selected for the position, I expect us as a team to find some common ground on which we can build future Positive Behavioral Support Systems for the students of Walter Elementary. Upon initial review, Walters Elementary student demographic is primarily African American.…

This evidence based approach will improve aptitudes and attitudes essential to higher achievement focusing on the whole child, creating safe and socially and emmotioonally supportive climates, and engaging parents and the community (Alessandro, et al., 2013). This model promotes voluntary behavior intended to benefit another. According to a study done by Kincaid, D., Childs, K., Blasé, K. A., & Wallace, F.
