Brazil hold the second largest rainforest in the world. According to (State of the Rainforest), reports of rapid deforestation in the 1990’s have made Brazil worry about the rainforest. In 1995, 54,000 kilometer had been deforested, that an area bigger than Costa Rica that is only 51,100 kilometer. With Brazil losing about 1% of the forest annually, the country took action to reduce deforestation. After the publication of deforestation data for 2003/2004, fighting against the deforestation in the Amazon had become a national priority. Involving military personals, law enforcement, and organization to stop loggers from continuing their work any further. The Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (REDD+) is a major organization that is working to reduce the emission and deforestation. REDD+ were able to reduce emissions by preventing loggers from cutting down trees and allowing the rainforest to take its course in
