Rarely do social media users explain exactly what they are feeling, other than just showing the current action they are doing that brings them to the point where they use the term “YOLO”. Social media users and everyday teens tend to have a sense of selfishness on the Internet. They post things having no other thoughts of “who might see this”, “will this hurt anyone’s feelings”, or “will I regret this in the future.” They use social media as a way out of reality, so with using the word YOLO it’s a sense of making wild and crazy decisions acceptable to teens minds to escape the real world. It makes them believe that anything they post or do and adding the word YOLO to it, makes it acceptable. When in reality, posting a picture of your ass on social media, not studding for a test, or jumping off a cliff into water can all bring serious consequences and when adding the word YOLO they believe it will all go away. We have discussed on just one term that has a very strong influence in our teens everyday language, “YOLO”. One term influences so many people to do such rash and negative decisions acceptable. It creates a strong emotion that can cause a lot of harm, some instant and some in the future. But hey,
