How Technology has Changed Golf
Introduction
The technological advances in golf, including clubs, balls, and course management, have completely changed the way that a golfer goes about their game; however, this is not a downfall to the sport as technology cannot replace skill. Golfing is an all around extremely mental sport but with the new technological of advances of today, it’s taking a little bit of stress of the golfer himself. Even pro golfers will admit, new golf equipment is much more than just a trend (How Technology has Entirely Changed the Face of Golf, 2016).

There are various types of equipment involved in golf. As far as clubs go, they can now be designed for various types of people and swings (How Technology has Entirely …show more content…

Manufactures are able to manipulate ball compression for maximum distance (Science Fair Projects- How Does the Bounciness of a Golf Ball Affect the Distance that it Will Travel?, 2016). Golf balls are becoming so aerodynamic that courses are having to be lengthened (Golf Ball Technology- Learn How it Affects a Golfer’s Own Game, 2016). Especially since in warmer weather, due to the compression of the ball, the ball actually travels further (Golf Ball Technology- Learn How it Affects a Golfer’s Own Game, 2016). There are two types of balls that are made: soft and hard. Softer balls tend to bounce and travel more (Science Fair Projects- How Does the Bounciness of a Golf Ball Affect the Distance that it Will Travel?, 2016), while harder balls bounce less and therefore travel shorter (Science Fair Projects- How Does the Bounciness of a Golf Ball Affect the Distance that it Will Travel?, 2016).
