How Successful Were The Mongols

The Mongols were a powerful force in history and have affected today’s society in a multitude of ways, but many people don’t know what they did to be so successful in their conquests. The Mongols were a group made up of tribes that came from the steppe planes of Asia. They spanned from China to parts of Europe. They were the largest empire from the 13th century to the 14th century. They were nomads who were trained for combat from a young age and relied on the resources around them. Their conquests and practices were a net positive for the globalized world and their methods were the most effective for what they wanted to accomplish. They also used horses as food sources by drinking their milk and eating their meat after they got old, tired, and weak. Another effective strategy the Mongols used was the open-end tactic. This tactic involved surrounding their enemies, leaving a gap as an illusion of an escape and then fooling the opposing side into that trap as “the enemy rarely maintained discipline and often discarded their weapons to flee faster.
