Trustworthy Government? Many citizens of different types of governments have their opinions on how successful or corrupt their leaders are. Same goes for the people of the United States Government, even with the based leadership ideals of freedom and equality. But how is any government following the concrete base support the past has given the people of that country? Is the relationship between the people and any type of government a healthy relationship? Modernly, the relationship of the government is not trustworthy because of secret censorship, misuse of the military, and the corruption. Firstly, the Chinese government relies on the internet to expand their reach and power in the world, but they have to restrict the people to keep the …show more content…
The military may not get as much credit as they deserve, the government does not show what the military is really like. An article that informs the people about foreign affairs explains how the Navy and Marine Corps is struggling with the major decline. It states, “The number of ships deployed overseas, however, remained the same at about 100 ships. Each ship was, therefore, working about 20 percent harder to meet the demand” (Bryan Clark). This statement is showing that the Navy and Marine Corps has been struggling over the years due to the ship amount shrinking and even the past decade but as this is happening they are still accomplishing all that is asked of them, from the government and from the people. Even with declining numbers while trying to recruit, the Navy and Marine Corps still get the job done but takes longer time to accomplish. The government is asking many things of the Navy and Marine Corps and yet with the declining numbers the government is still giving them orders that takes more time, also makes them stay longer away from their families at home. This also wears done equipment and the ships themselves to wear down from working at a slow yet forced …show more content…
Those who believe that the American government should have secrets is being debated by the American people every day. In an article an attorney who has represented cities, towns, fire districts, and occasionally other special taxing districts informs about how important it is to have the government to hold onto important information. The author says, “The purpose of keeping information from general dissemination is -- or at least should be -- to prevent the information from benefiting those who would do harm to society” (Chris Wencker). Basically the government keeps all information so that the people does not have to worry about information being shared with those who could harm them or harm society as a whole. Just a precaution so those who plan to do horrible thigs to others, it gives them no power to. Another discussion is how the U.S. military is protecting the country. The military is the protection of the United States of America and her interests, while also having some special missions in a variety of areas. The veterans get out of the military get what they have put into serving, a press author wrote an article talking about how there is fairness in what the veterans get back from their service. Author states, “Nearly 60,000 veterans were triple dippers last year, drawing a total of $3.5 billion in military retirement pay plus veterans and Social Security disability benefits at the same

Moreover, in early 2006 there were already 350 million mobile phones in use in China and that number was projected to grow by about 57 million annually.21 Before choosing to launch Google.cn, Google was already a player in this Chinese market. Since the site’s inception in 1999, U.S.-based Google.com had been available to Chinese users as it had been to users worldwide. Unlike its major U.S. competitors, though, Google did not rush to set up a China-based version of its search engine, and thus to acquiesce to government censorship regulations, as had Yahoo! in 1999, when it established Yahoo! China,22 and Microsoft in 2005, with its establishment of MSN China.23 Unlike its competitors, Google chose instead to create a version of its search engine capable of understanding character-based languages like Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, which it would run out of its California headquarters. With this U.S.-based version of Google.com, the company was able to control an estimated 25% of the Chinese search market by 2002 and to avoid Chinese government censorship completely.24 By the year 2002, Google.com’s Chinese user base mainly consisted of white collar, pro-Western Chinese businesspeople.25 However, in the fall of 2002, problems struck.…

What would you do if your country kept secrets from you. The C.I.A. torture report was a report that should have been released much early that it was. This report explained the horrendous actions the C.I.A. took to extract information from prisoners of war of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. There are many reasons why this report should have been released, but the most prominent reasons are the sanction of those responsible for this torture, and the right for the American people to know what the government is conducting under their name. There are also reasons why the report should have been released.…

People have their own impression of government and what they expect for their people. Seeing that we, as Americans, vote for the people in our government, I believe our government is on the right path for success. Abraham Lincoln described government well in his Gettysburg Address. A good government must be "Of the people, by the people and for the people.” A government is meant to power citizens so rebellion and disorder is not present.…

No one will ever know the truth if the government is keeping hidden information from the public. Edward Snowden a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) computer technician leaked classified documents from the government system to inform the public of what’s going on and what really happened in past events. This created a controversy among the public and government officials because some people believe he is a traitor to his country and others think he is a hero. In a dystopian society, truth about government actions is generally kept from the citizens. Information that is free to the public in a utopia is not free to those living under a dystopian government. Keeping secrets from the general public for their “benefit” isn’t the correct way to conduct the public’s business. If today’s government keeps enough secrets from the citizens, it can eventually lead to a dystopian society. There have been many cases where the US government has abused its power of secret keeping.…

As stated in chapter 1 “… as popular dependence on the government has grown, the American public’s view of the government has turned more sour. Public trust in the government has declined, and Americans are now more likely to feel that they can do little to influence the government’s actions.” (We the People, pg. 6). I accept this to be true since I also do not have much trust in our government. My mistrust in the government stems from many of their actions such as the Edward Snowden debacle, the issue with our electoral college, and the lack of separation between religion and government.…

The most unsuccessful system of government is dictatorship. It is the most unsuccessful type of government because there is only one person ruling over the whole country and the people do not get to have their say. If people speak in a unsympathetic way about the dictator they could be found guilty for some fictional and freakish reason which in some countries which equals execution. The dictator does not only rule over the people but also dominates over the military which makes the dictator does not have to get the consult of other leaders to attack country.…
