Stress itself is a universal human experience. All of us have stress, weather it comes from work, school, or people. We have the option to either to have or to not have stress. Many regions in the world cope and deal with stress differently since we enjoy a wide array of food, music, dance, film, sports, and literature that had their beginning. Therefore stress has its beginning, depending what cultural background you are from. Some studies of coping with stress began in Mumbai, India and the island Okinawa in Japan. Both of these studies are already making inroads into the United States and all around the world.

Dr. Madan Kataria from India began the practice of laughter yoga. Yoga is a system or set of breathing exercises and postures. Now laughter yoga is a lot different by practicing to gather in a group and pretend to laugh. This is carried on for 15 to 20 minutes. The point of this exercise is for the breathing patterns shift to a slower and deeper movement that is related to relaxation. Dr. Madan Kataria has reported with a reduction of stress, improved sense of humor, and increase resistance to illness. Also, it has shown that Laughter reduce cortisol levels, increase the production of lymphocytes (improves the function of the immune system), concentration on the body’s first line of defense against respiratory infections called salivary immunoglobulin A (IgA), and lastly a natural killer cell that are a special white blood cells with the task of attacking cancer…
