How sound work is the vibrations emit from whatever has made the sound in what is known as a longitudinal wave.A longitudinal wave is a wave that travels in a single direction.

Next how can we hear sound. We can hear sound from a longitudinal wave for example when a tree falls and energy is released vibrations are created and a longitudinal wave is sent out but anyone might not hear the sound.
