Are You Really Living Life As Free As You Think?

During my time observing people and examining the social behaviors done within school campus, I have collected some intriguing data about the trends and routines people usually get into. The mind blooming journey I had squandering my time with this research led me to a new perspective on my life. I never really thought about things this way, but it turns out I do almost the same things every day and so do most people on school grounds. I also find some pretty juicy stuff on teenager self-esteem and insecurities. However, keep in mind that these findings are in no way considered facts and always the case by me. I do not seek to generalize as these are only brief observations of what I have seen in my time, therefore, all views expressed in this report are my opinions. In this report you will delve into the findings of my research and indulge yourselves with a piece of my mind. Judging by my observations, my research all runs back to one question/thesis: Are you really living life as free as you think? …show more content…
A handful of questions have been answered. A few of them being do teenagers constantly seek attention and social approval from their peers? Do people change attitudes when they want something from someone? Do people value friendships a lot more when rewards are not involved? Do people stay within groups when hanging out? Are you really living life as free as you think? The answers to all these might be yes but they will also always be different in some cases. The true answer would be: it varies and that is exactly what I learned from my research. I have found many other observations but I only got to talk about two. Although I wished to cover a handful of them rather than only two, I would have had to write a 5 page report as I cannot fit more. I hope you have enjoyed reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing this and I hope this was as insightful and interesting as I thought it would

The American teenager is an individual created by growing multiple cultural changes in our society. In his book The Rise and Fall of the American Teenager, author Thomas Hine describes this stage of life as energetic and exciting, adding that teenagers carry qualities our culture simultaneously loves and fears, such as boldness, greed and being idealistic (Hine, p. 10-11). The behavior of teenagers is influenced by a multitude of factors. One of those factors includes social class, which can influence how teenagers socialize, as well as how they are treated in their education endeavors.…

It is almost like being trapped in a world you cannot escape. Yes we are more free than other countries but we are not totally free. I don't believe we are free due to all the restrictions that the government has put on us and what they have done. I strive daily not to be a disappointment to him, although I fail miserably.…

“Freeing yourself was one thing, claiming ownership of that freed self was another.” Freedom is the state of being free or at liberty, rather than in confinement or under physical restraint. Since birth, we learn to adapt into a life of restrictions and limitations. Although some countries are considered to be ‘free’, we are still bound by the oppressive chains of society and government. We follow the rules and if we choose to be disobedient we suffer the consequences.…
