With that being true sometimes, it would be better if the teacher lets the students choose the book they want to read instead of being told what they’re going to read. Giving a student the option to choose a book for the quarter will more than likely be able to make them want to read more, as they will be more intrigued by it. Having the students choose/suggest books to read will have an effect on everyone because they’ll all pick interesting books, and resulting in choosing an interesting book would likely make them not want to stop reading it. In conclusion, it’s a good idea to give students the choice to pick what books they read together as a class because it can help the class in a positive way. Although their choices may vary from sci-fi to educational, the class will be more involved and willing to do more if their peers choose a book. Also, as I said before it’ll help everyone break out of their shells and be able to share their ideas more
