Large numbers of GMO activists see GMO foods as a danger to the environment and the human immune system. They call these foods frankenfoods because they aren’t naturally made and don’t provide any offspring.
These types of foods are made in laboratories. Scientists developed GMFs so that they could stay fresh longer and to be resistant to insects and animals and etc.
"Genetically modified foods have been linked to toxic and allergic reactions, sick, sterile and dead livestock, and causes damage to virtually every organ studied in lab animals," (Jeffrey Smith, 2003)
Most first world countries don’t see GMO to be safe because of its side-effects and its devastating impact to the environment.
