British political system evaluated over the time. In my work I would like to pay a special attention on the power of the British Prime Minister, to evaluate the topic I would try to describe the general political system in United Kingdom. Great Britain is a constitutional monarchy lead by Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, but the Monarch is only responsible for representative purposes and step aside of internal and external politics. The power of Prime Minister depends on the judiciary, executive and legislature authority. Parliament as a legislature power has two houses, upper House of Lords and lower House of Commons. The courts are the judiciary power and the executive is government.

Prime Minister is responsible for creating a government, charring and organizing its work. He is also responsible for hiring and firing ministers. Next responsibility is supervising civil service and taking care of national security. The basic direction of government policy is also his responsibility. Usually Prime Ministers take a special interest in particular affairs. For instance Blair in foreign affairs and defence, Brown in economy. The Prime Minister has a lot of duties like: weekly Prime Ministerial questions, giving regular conferences, giving evidence of his work to Parliamentary Liaison Committee three times a year. He also takes of responsibility of the whole country during crisis. For example last financial crisis in 2008. He or she takes responsibility of the whole country during war. The main problem nowadays which Prime Ministers must face is a terrorism.
