How Phora Changed My Life

Decent Essays
March 18th, 2011 I started to listen to this artist that went by “Phora” his real name was Marco. He writes music that I’ve been able to connect with for the longest time now. When I was smaller, I used to be really sad all the time, but this guy he changed my life. He made a song called deeper than blood, which I felt related to me in all ways. My parents were always arguing, they were broke and I was young so I really didn't understand. He continued to make new music throughout the years, I really didn't understand some of his lyrics till I got about 11 or 12. His message to me was that I will be okay and to just be a kid and things will eventually be okay.

So not long after I thought my parents would divorce, things got better! My parents both were working and paid bills and everything was okay. I remember Phora saying just

And my parents made that dream come true on July 1st. I always wondered how and what type person he would be. The way phora raps and sings in songs is the same as his personality. Being able to meet him changed my life. I got to tell Phora about why and how I started listening to him. Phora gave me two free shirts and told me to stay strong. Those words have been in my head since the day I met him. He changed my life in ways I never thought was possible. Meeting him was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had.

The concert was the best day of life! I got to meet the man who changed my life, I got to hear my favorite songs performed live and the best part was my best friend and cousin got to experience it all with me. He recently made a song called ‘To the moon’ and when he performed it I started to think to myself I want to reach my full potential as a kid right now. I wanna be to the moon, above the stars meaning I want what’s best for me. I would’ve never been the person I am today without the help of the lyrics of Phora. He has a song for everything you may be going

A few years ago, one of my good friends sent me some songs to listen to by a band that I had never heard of called Twenty One Pilots. Their sound was completely different from anything I had ever heard before, containing some rap, a ukulele, and a piano all in one album. No one song sounded like the other, but they all contained one common element: some type of deep message hidden in the lyrics. At first, I rejected the band, not liking the way the music sounded, but when I listened again, really paying attention to the lyrics this time, I fell in love immediately. Somehow, these short 3 minute songs by this almost totally unknown duo had utterly changed my entire perspective on life, and on the effects of music in particular.…
