Have you ever been in a room with that person that can just really bring out every good thing in you without you even knowing what’s going on? What makes that person be able to walk in and control that whole place? Well that would be there personality, you might wonder how someone could get that personality? That is where our main argument comes in to play. Is what makes your personality nature or how you are nurtured. Well my belief is that your personality is shaped by your upbringing or the way you are nurtured, everyone has a different personality of course, but I believe that the people you are around effect who you are.

I think that it is nurture because I believe that we are all born to be our own person with our own personality, but I think that it is shaped by who we are around, such as parents, peers or culture.(Boundless Psychology, 2016) The reason that I believe this to be true is because in my life my father wasn’t around and our personalities are completely different. Also, my mother was around every day and me and her were completely different I was extraverted and she was introverted and it is still this way. Although, everyday my mom told me right from wrong, taught me how to be a good person, to be kind and show love to everyone that I come into contact with. To this day I still respect those morals because of my personality. Did it come from my mother? Yes, but it was taught and nurtured into me not passed on by her genes. I think you show similar values and traits of personality to your parents because they are the people you are around the most so you tend to act more like them compared to anyone else, but also your culture has a lot to do with who you are as a person. For example; If a couple’s son lives in a household that believes that gay marriage is wrong, but when he moves out he moves into a culture where this is acceptable and sees other sides of the argument and now believes it is okay. This shows that his personality towards gay marriage was changed simply because of where he was and what culture he was in. Although, I believe some
