Have you ever thought where all of that extra trash goes? Or where do they take the trash to? Well here is where they put it, in the ocean.This action affects Marine life very seriously. And it affects humans to. Whatever the fish eats, your eating too. Ocean pollution is when, us humans, dump billions of trash into the ocean. We dump trash into the ocean without even thinking about it twice. We think that it will dissolve into the ocean. But really, it is being eaten by the species and they are suffocating because of it. There is oil spills and lots of toxins dumped into the ocean. Ocean pollution happens when we dump trash into the ocean or when ships accidentally spill oil into the ocean.There is an island

Sewage substancesflow through sewage, rivers, or drainages directly into the ocean. All that goes through the ocean is toxic chemicals which industries dump toxic liquids into the ocean. Also land runoff is when water picks up man made items and takes them into the ocean. There is also a thing called Large Scale Oil Spills. And that is when ship pollution spills oil. When spilt the toxins stay in the water and suffocate the animals.
In the 1970’s, 17 million tons of industrial waste was legally dumped into the ocean. In the 1980’s, 8 million tons where dumped including acids, alkaline waste,scrap metals, waste from fish processing, desulpurazation, sludge, and coal ash. In this case these pollutants are spread by the ocean current. Also in this case it can interupt a reproduction wave that dolphins use to have their babies. The dolphin and their baby will die due to the fact that the wave pattern was interupted.
The firts step into preventing this is to stop making this action legal. The second step is to stop dumping our trash into the ocean. Many people complain about why there is so much trash on the beach. But what they don’t know is that it is their trash. Sometimes you see people out on the beach cleaning up all of the trash.
