Neptune is very complex and there are many different aspects about Neptune's History. Neptune may be dark and lifeless, but the mystery is what give Neptune its features. Neptune also was named after the roman god of the sea. Many think Neptune is small when looking at it from a radar, but when investigating Neptune, the planet could hold about 64 Earths if were hollow. Theories about how Neptune was created still is left to be investigated.
When and How Neptune was Discovered
The mass of Neptune is 1.027e26 kg, although Neptune is about 49,532 km. Many facts about Neptune were discovered in 1989 when a spacecraft called the Voyager 2 made it to Neptune. Neptune was discovered approximately 141 years before the Voyager was sent in 1846. Neptune was discovered through mathematics from when it was discovered that Uranus didn’t line up with Newton’s law. Afterthoughts about the problem was discussed, it was to be believed that another planet was perturbing to orbit of Uranus which was Neptune. Neptune was thought to be discovered in 1613 by Galileo, but soon was revealed that he thought it was a star. Neptune is the densest planet of the largest. Soon after Neptune was discovered to be the eighth planet from the sun through predictions. Earth is thirty times closer to the sun than Neptune is. The cloud temperature is about negative 193 to …show more content…
Neptune's rotation axis is relative to the sun. The magnetic axis is not aligned with its rotation. The magnetic field environment has a look like a lopsided shape . The field at the surface of the planet depends on which hemisphere is being measured. When Neptune is rotating in the solar wind, the magnetic field of Neptune goes through dramatic changes. The magnetic field polarity of Neptune is the opposite to the Earth. Although the voyager was sent to Neptune, the length of a day on Neptune has not been
